Welcome to my world

Life is a constant pursuit, this is my journey.

William Wordsworth's Ode: Intimations of Immortality

"...Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass,

of glory in the flower; we will grieve not, rather find

strength in what remains behind;

In the primal sympathy which having been must ever be;

In the soothing thoughts that spring out of human suffering;

... In the faith that looks through death...

Thanks to the human heart by which we live

Thanks to its tenderness, its joys, and fears

To me the meanest flower that blows, can give thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears."

Watching love evolve from a distance

Love is beautiful and difficult and not immune to the pressures in our society. As people we should encourage it wherever and however we can. Young love especially is lovely and difficult and hard to withstand. It is human nature to try and test love and you can be sure others will test your resolve for one another. I think we should do everything we can as a society to give love a fighting chance whenever we can and help it along however we can. That applies to legislation, how we treat each other, and the relationships around us.

I've been an observer of love this past year as I've stopped dating for awhile to concentrate on my studies and because of other various reasons I won't get into right now. Recently I've seen young love and it's tumultuous struggle and a close friend on the brink of a possible divorce. Love blinds people and perhaps that is not always a healthy thing. I've watched people around it act from a range of apathetic to overly concerned and stifling. I still believe even after having more misses than hits over the years that as Lord Tennyson says " 'tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all."

To me, love is the ultimate experience in life. I try to love as many people as I can in all its varied forms. I love my family, friends, animals, strangers I see going through celebrations and struggles, and nature. I think the point is to love as much as you can, to fall in love with as many things in life and people as you can whether as friends, lovers, or from afar. Love is truly all there is. To me, it is what makes this life all worthwhile. It shouldn't take a holiday to make us feel that so I say hang on to love, hold onto feelings, open your heart, and have respect for love.
